Learning from peers and joining forces to strengthen the impact of philanthropy.

Since its inception, Fondation Altitudes has been a member of Un Esprit de Famille and its Cercle Weber for Education, a community of philanthropists who share experiences, challenge their practices, and pool resources to support nonprofit organizations. We actively contribute to the Cercle Weber community and participate in a collaborative funding initiative bringing together 17 members to support the nonprofit organization Parlons Démocratie.

A Community for Learning and Taking Action Together

Un Esprit de Famille (UEDF) brings together privately established philanthropic funds and foundations around a shared ambition: exchanging experiences, improving philanthropic practices, and fostering collaboration in pursuit of the common good.
Within this community, the Cercle Weber for Education brings together philanthropists committed to addressing educational challenges. It encourages peer learning and develops collaborative funding and support initiatives for nonprofit organizations.

Our Contribution to the Cercle Weber Community

Since joining, we have actively contributed to organizing Cercle Weber events, from identifying guest speakers and preparing discussions to helping shape the topics explored.
These gatherings provide valuable opportunities to exchange perspectives, discover different approaches, and collectively reflect on educational challenges and philanthropic practices.

From Dialogue to Collective Action: Our Partnership with Parlons Démocratie

We have also joined the Cercle Weber's collaborative funding group, alongside 16 other Un Esprit de Famille members, to support the nonprofit organization Parlons Démocratie for two years, beginning in 2027.
Together with Aude Allard (Fondation LAMA) and Jérôme Adams (Fonds Philanthropique Tout pour Être Heureux), we help structure and coordinate this partnership.
Our involvement includes developing a shared funding agreement, organizing quarterly strategic meetings with the nonprofit, providing regular updates to participating funders, sharing the organization's events and initiatives, and arranging site visits to connect members with its work on the ground.
Beyond financial support, the goal is to provide coordinated, meaningful support to the nonprofit without creating additional administrative burdens or multiplying requests from individual funders.
This experience also offers an opportunity to explore important questions: How can we bring together the diverse perspectives of 17 philanthropists while maintaining a simple and effective partnership? How can we pool our contributions while preserving the organization's autonomy?
We hope to share the lessons learned and use them to continue improving our own philanthropic practices.
Because collaboration in philanthropy is not simply about pooling resources. It is also about learning how to put them to better use, together.
