L'École Change Demain
The citizen movement L’École Change Demain (The School Changes Tomorrow) brings together teachers, students, parents, elected officials, associations, professionals, and citizens throughout France who are committed to a fair and happy school for all.
For two years, they have been organizing workshops throughout France to imagine together the school of tomorrow and map out successful initiatives.
In cities and rural areas, in affluent neighborhoods and working-class communities, the same image of the school emerges from the workshops:
- A school where everyone learns with joy
- A school that is open to the world
- A school where we think and act together
This school, which citizens are calling for, is also often the one recommended by science.
The school system is experiencing an unprecedented level of distress today, affecting both students and teachers.
And yet, all the solutions already exist. Across the country, thousands of initiatives are being developed within schools by educational teams to reinvent the way we teach and learn.
The challenge: we must build a shared narrative around a common vision for the School.
Through citizen mobilisation, the aim is to reignite the desire to take action at the local level, and to convince local officials and decision-makers to place the School back at the heart of political priorities.
“I truly believe that a bright future for schools is possible. If we can all sit down together around the table... with a little method! Making schools a place of collective intelligence, where teachers, students, and parents are heard, is my dream and my commitment.”
